This week I had the pleasure of receiving a photo from a good friend in Arizona. Connie was the first Amercian quilter to be so gracious and welcome me into her home on my very first trip to the USA in 2003. Her and her friend Edna, also in the photo below, organized several teaching opportunities which allowed me to make that trip. What an experience and a whole lot of fun.
This weekend I had the pleasure of chatting with Patricia Mitchell a quilter from California. She was telling me what she was up to in quilting. I always think it is fun seeing what others have done so I asked her if she would like to be my guest quilter for my blog. As you will see, she has made a number of my designs.
Last year about the middle of May I received an email from Rosalie Hixson. She had purchased my quilt pattern "Simply Sunflowers" as a kit from the Keepsake Quilting Catalog and was working on it, ready to being the blanket stitching but had a question.
Congratulations to Barbara Delphos of Massachusetts on winning a blue ribbon for her bargello quilt "Freedom". It is always wonderful to receive photos of quilts made from our patterns and very exciting to hear when they have been awarded a prize. Barbara sent us a photo of her blue ribbon prize along with some photos of the quilt in progress.
Today I had to share a quilt from one of my students. Currently I have running my Bargello Seasons online class at Quilt University - this is always a popular class and it shows by the work that is created in it. Jo Dickson is just one student in my class this semister and is delighted to share her work with us all. Her Bargello in Spring (the first bargello of the series) is all complete and slightly different to the usual Spring Bargellos.
