Cutting Free-form Curves

Posted by on 22 January 2019 | 0 Comments

A while back I wrote a post about curved piecing and some of my students have since asked if I could make a video showing how I cut those curves - so I did and wanted to share it here.

In the video, I'm using 2-1/2" strips cut from fat quarters but you can use any length or width. Do be careful when cutting the strips - always cut away from yourself and always keep your fingers behind the blade.

I added this video along with the stitching video and full instructions for curved piecing to my online workshop "Getting Started with Quilt Art" as an alternative technique so all past students will have access to it... you'll find it in lesson two under the curved piecing section where we make a landscape.
