Elizabeth Barton has always been a lover of scrap quilts.... however not of tedious cutting out of specific shapes and pattern matching.... instead, she came up with a very different way of approaching the use of scraps.
Knowing what colors or fabrics to use when making a quilt is only part (but a very important part) of the way to creating a beautiful quilt. The rest comes in the creation, stitching, quilting and embellishing. Today I want to visit the quilting side of things, one of my favorite parts of quilt making.
Here are three quilts I've made in the past. What do you think they all have in common - other than I made them?
When you're thinking about making a quilt you are often inspired by a photo... but it's actually harder than you think to pick the right one.... it's not always the prettiest one!!! Some photos are marvelous - as photos.... but not brilliant as an inspiration for a quilt. so choosing the right photo to start with is crucial!
