As I was walking along the road I noticed this beautiful flower growing among the plants on the bank. I snapped a couple of photos.

When I arrived home I looked online to see if I could find out what they were and I do believe the are a Black-eyed Susan vine. The flower on the vines are somewhat different to what I have known as a Black-eyed Susan, but since reading about it I discovered the same name is given to another species of flower called Rudbeckia.

Here's a close up on one flower.

The leaves remind me a little bit of holly leaves, but they are wider. I made mine two tone, but they can easily be made in just one fabric.

The flowers are made in one fabric each, however they could be made as individual petals.

My finished block looks like this.
