Friday Flower Freesia

Friday's Flower today is a Freesia. These beautiful flowers come in all sorts of different colors. One I had growing in my garden was white, but I thought it would be better to make an orange flower for my block.

Freesias are a bulb plant and their leaves are long and pointed. I find this easy to make with my free-motion raw edge technique as you can sew right into the point and just beyond to make the leaf really quite sharp.

On my flowers I edged each petal with a little brown paint. This helps make the flower in the front stand out better.

My finished block ended up like this.
