It's the last day of February so what better time than to review all the flower blocks that were released for the month.
Day 9 of our machine quilting by inspiration. Last week I mentioned making larger designs for a border or over all design - an iris was the subject. This week I am continuing on with that same thought using a rose leaf instead.
At the beginning of the year we loaded a new download into our catalogue called "Fiesta". This is a bargello quilt pattern which has two sizes, a wall hanging and a bed quilt.
What is a signature block? A signature block is a quilt block with a blank area where a signature can be added. Often groups will make signature blocks, join them together to make a quilt to give on a special occasion. It might be when someone is leaving or moving away.
I've been trying to eat healthy, well I usually do but probably not as healthy as I should. I've decided I really should eat more fruit and vegetables. Today I want to share with you one of my favorite veggies, stuffed eggplant. I added a little salad on the side.
I thought Purple Dawn would make a challenging jigsaw. Did you know you can change the cut? I set it on 240 piece classic cut for an extra challenge. Make it smaller if you wish.
Orchids come in many shapes and colors. I have collected a few photos from different areas just so you can see.
A while ago I decided I wanted to add some applique to a sweater. I've done this on a number of occasions and whenever I wear such a sweater, I always get compliments - probably because no one has ever seen one like it before.
For my machine quilting days so far, I've been working with mainly fill-in quilting stitches. For the next two weeks, I want to use a more open design which could be developed into an overall quilting design or border design.
Stepping Stones was a quilt I put together as a custom made job for a customer. It didn't have the printed blocks in it as I have in the photo below. It was just made in blue and yellow squares. Very easy to make with large pieces.
