Entwined Star online class begins this week again. This is a popular class that shouldn't be missed. In the last session, Thelma made the design twice, one using a dark background and the other a light. How different they look.
Ever made a quilt with just two fabrics? To tell you the truth, I never really thought about it until I saw Nancy Chong's class "Two Fabric Applique". I was totally amazed how fantastic these look. It just makes me want to grab two fabrics and work along too. I wonder what made Nancy think of this creative idea...
Did you check in the new gallery this week? Both Amanda and Kay are joining the fun: Feb Gallery. Did you stitch along today? I put my background together using the shades of black to pale grey.
Last week you selected fabrics for February's challenge, the theme is "darkness to light". Check back to last week's post if you want to join in. There's still plenty of time!

Do you consider yourself a quilter or a designer - perhaps both? It is fun to make someone's pattern, but it is even more fun to design and create one of your own. Something personal, or unique to you. The big question is, where do you start? The simple answer is "inspiration". If you think about it, we are all inspired by something no matter what we do, but we know that it takes more than only inspiration to get a finished quilt.
When I saw Lily Kerns class I wondered what digital fabrics was all about. I took a closer look and discovered that Lily generates and manipulates images digitally ready to print on to fabric, and then of course, prints them. Very clever I thought. All you need is your computer and being a little familiar with how to use a picture editing program, a digital camera and plenty of fabric sheets. Oh and I should say, make sure you have plenty of ink in your printer. Once you start playing, you'll want to start printing and using your fabrics.
If you missed this week's rules, it's not too late. This challenge week is really easy, no sewing, just selecting some items to use. You can find the rules for week 1 here.
Welcome to the Stitch along gallery for February 2014. If you are yet to begin, you can find the first set of rules here: Challenge rules for February
