Basic Dyeing for Quiltmakers by Elizabeth Barton

Questions about dyeing fabric - do you have them? Here are some things to ponder over...
What is my favorite color?
I'm curious! How and when did you learn about color? Do you rely on what you learned in your schooldays? Have you taken formal color or quilters' classes? Do you still struggle with color? Do you work intuitively?
Make Applique quick and easy - Guest blogger Rose Hughes
Rose Hughes makes amazing quilts using her unique techniques. She teaches these in her workshop "Shaping Up With Fast-Piece Applique" at the Academy of Quilting. Today she is my guest blogger as she shares with us a little bit about her journey...
Christmas Surprise
I've included four more of my classes as on-demand class, this means you can start whenever you like and take as long as you need to complete them. For the early bird registration, I also included 25% off from now until Christmas - a good way to treat yourself. This will be available until Christmas, then that will be the end of the sales. I won't be changing any more of my classes to on-demand at least until we see how this new format works.
I've Been Tagged in a Blog Hop
I've been tagged! It's the "Around the World Blog hop" and I've been tagged by Cindy Foster of Oregon. Cindy is a quilter and designer, currently working towards her local Christmas Bazaar, and operates her own company "Carter Creek Quilts".
Creative Twist on Purse
Any excuse to make something for someone is always high on my list of things to do especially when it comes to Christmas and Birthdays, so knowing my granddaughter Amy loves purses, I just had to make her one this Christmas. I used my Candy Sweet Purse Pattern to create a new style design just for her. The original pattern has two applique designs that can be used - or you can use a favorite fabric in the panel inside - but I chose to create my own fabric and add some additional touches.
The Art of The Quilt exhibits by Susan Brittingham
For the ninth year, over 40 quilt artists from across the Southeast will exhibit work in the biennial invitational exhibition at the Piedmont Arts Association, Martinsville, Virginia. The theme of the exhibit is Celebration of Color. This year's exhibition features quilts in vibrant, stunning hues.
