Early Christmas
Over on my website at Arbee Designs we are having a mid-year Christmas promotion! If you are like me, I always leave my Christmas projects to the last minute and more often than not, I run out of time to get them complete. Well, not this year. I decided to get started early and to help you, I've put all my Christmas classes and patterns on sale.
How much do you know about color?
I'm so pleased to see this workshop by Elizabeth as so many students ask me about color... Color combinations, color and contrast, value, intensity, and temperature. Now I can direct them to this in-depth class so they can learn it inside out with the help of veteran teacher/designer Elizabeth Barton. She doesn't leave any stone unturned!
Embroidery Feet for My Sewing Machine
Some time ago I purchased a new sewing machine - my old one was over 25 years and still working well, but I figured some new features would come in really handy for my quilting.
Zentangle Mushrooms - what a delight
Just a little time out tangling a simple drawing trying to keep my drawing skills at a reasonable level while also promoting my brain activity!!!
Fireworks in Spring or Winter?
I named my new quilt Fireworks in Spring, but it all depends on the colors you use as to what season it should be named. As I was writing the pattern, I created a different setting using different colors so that quilt became Fireworks in Winter.
How to Draw a Flying Geese Border in Perspective
Amazing designs can come about when you draw in perspective and it isn't as hard as you might think. Anita Eaton teaches an online workshop for simply that, "Perspective in Quilting" and today she is offering a free short tutorial on how to draw a Flying Geese Border in perspective. If this whets your appetite for perspective creations, then wait till you see her workshop!
Portraits or Pets?
How exciting to see some of the students that have taken "Pets with Personality" class with Marilyn Lee using the technique taught in the class to create amazing portrait quilts! One student McCrae created this beautiful portrait of her granddaughter. Look at the wonderful array of colors she has used in this exceptional piece.
