Over the past few weeks, I've been giving suggestions on how to make some gifts to give. These included some of my applique designs - many of my applique blocks can be made into any of the ideas.
Last week I happened to be in our local craft store and found some oval hoops so I decided to grab a couple and start designing - of course, flowers came to mind.
It just occurred to me that I missed a post for October's flower! Fortunately, I have made this flower in my BOW flower series. It was one of the early flowers, the marigold.
This week instead of hoops I'm going to use canvas blocks. You can do the same thing with stretcher bars if you prefer. The biggest thing with these is to allow enough background fabric to go around the sides and over at least a good inch onto the back. Anything smaller and you will need to add additional fabric as I did with my pepper block.
