It's great to be home again (after narrowly missing all the flooding that occurred over the weekend) to have access to my supplies.... and the first thing I did was to dig out my threads to find a variegated blue to quilt the sky of my landscape.landscape variegated thread

Quilt Designs as Jigsaw Puzzles

Well I went to get out my quilt today so I could begin stitching and realized I had not brought a variegated pale blue thread with me which is really what I want for the sky. I could start elsewhere but I really prefer starting with the background as you would with applique.

Free Motion Quilting my Landscape

Before heading off on my trip, I carefully rolled up my applique landscape and packaged it in my suitcase ready for travel. I also bundled together a few threads that I thought I'd use. I'm now ready to pull it out and continue working on it but before I do, I need to think a bit about how I want to stitch it and I definitely want to warm up my skills.

I'm working hard to get my landscape applique in place. With heading down south at the end of the week, I'd really like all the applique done and pressed down - there is no way I'll get it stitched as well, but I will have my older Bernina with me for the second part of my trip so intend doing some stitching while away.
