Machine Quilting 51

Over the last few weeks I've been using Christmas themed photos for inspiration in quilting. First I used the bell cookie cutter and second I used a real Christmas tree. This week I'm going to use a stack of Christmas gifts.

I started out using the outline of the three gift bags with a flower design (poinsettia) on the small one so you could see the repeat easily. To make the stack there were times I had to stitch over some of the lines, you can see where it appears thicker.

From the stack I decided gifts might look rather cool in a border design. I changed them out a bit, changing their shapes and adding something a little different to each, a ribbon, tag and flower.

For this design, I didn't have to travel over any of the design, it made one continuous line. I started with the outside shape first, then travelled to the opposite side by creating the design through the middle and onto the next gift. That worked rather well.
