Fabric Arrival

Posted by Ruth on 10 January 2013 | 1 Comments

Recently I ordered some Hoffman fabrics and they arrived in the mail yesterday. I love Hoffman Fabrics and in particular batiks and the 1894 Bali hand-dyes they have. There is such a wonderful range of shades and colors that I wished I owned them all.

In my package I received 4 green and 4 purple 1894 hand-dyes as well as 4 batiks with green and purple in them. The lightest green is a little difficult to see.

So I'm guessing you are all wondering what I'm going to use them for.

I'm hoping these fabrics will make a wonderful quilt to fit the cover of my book. What's that I hear? A book? Yes that's right. A couple of years ago, I designed an original block which had lots of different options when laid out as a quilt. I'm using this whole concept to create my first book which I'm hoping to launch sometime in the near future. I'm not committing to dates just yet but I'm bound to write a blog post on the launching so be sure to stay tuned in.....

What's your next project going to be?

  • I ordered a pareo that turned out to be ... 2 yards of Hawaiian fabric. I'm going to turn my $10 a yard wrap into a slouchy purse! Love those Batik fabrics! I had a batik sling with my boys.
