Today I was looking through my stash, thinking about my next quilt project when I came across a bunch of 2 1/2" cut squares. They were mostly blue but with a few other colors. I sifted through them and thought to myself, "these are not much use to me really but I reckon they would be great in a certain pattern".

I went to check what size squares were required for Sunset Sails, and sure enough, it was 2 1/2" squares.

Sunset Sails quilt pattern

This adorable pattern is fun to make and ideal for young and old. The yachts give depth to the scene and you really feel as if you are looking right into the distant sunset.

Well I checked my squares and determined that I almost had enough cut for this quilt. Then I looked over and saw my latest design sitting waiting to be quilted and I thought to myself, I don't have time to make this little quilt right now, but I bet someone else would like to use up these squares.... or maybe more than one.

So I divided up the squares into charm packs of 2 1/2" squares - there is about 20 blue squares, 3 tan for the sand and 5 orange/yellow for the sunset.
