Light Upon the Earth Renewed
This morning while I began updating my website and seeing all my color wash patterns displayed, it finally came to me why Light Upon the Earth quilt was never as popular online as my other color wash patterns, yet in person, I always received many compliments about it.
Down in the Woods
Remember last week I mentioned a new pattern? Well, it is here now! Freshly released and a fun make with modern cutting techniques (or traditional if you prefer). My new quilt is called "Woodland Foxes" and is ideal for baby or toodler as you can make it in any size you require with ease - crib, cot, single or lap quilt.
Free-hand Embroidery and Beading
It always amuses me how one blog post leads to another. My recent post about how to make a knitting needle case sparked some added interest among quilters as the beading on the cover caught their eye. It's not something I teach in my free online class, just merely an extra feature added because I liked the effect!
Colorful Poppy Embroidery
A few weeks ago I made my pansy applique block as an embroidered block. This is how it looked....
More Ways Than One to Use An Applique Pattern

So many Reds!
Last week I made my first Folded Ribbon Heart from Anita's new pattern. It was super easy and super fun!
Folded Ribbon Heart Block
Over the past week, I have been working with Anita on getting her newest pattern published. It's been a lot of fun discovering all the various ways her Folded Ribbon Heart can work in blocks and quilts or table runners so today I wanted to share some of the great points this pattern has.
A Flower Garden Quilt
Over the last week, I have been finishing off my "Flower Garden" quilt pattern. Coordinating the fabrics was the most fun and wording it in the pattern rather than referring to color makes it easy for you to pick your own set of fabric colors. Note: To learn more about color choices, I can highly recommend Elizabeth Barton's Color Course - it has a wealth of information and exercises to try.
Brunnera Flower Block
Brunnera is a flower in the Boraginaceae family or more commonly known Forget-me-not family. As with most flowers, there are many species of Brunnera. The best known is Siberian bugloss. Its interesting heart-shaped leaves grabbed my attention so I decided to make a new flower block.
My Spring Flowers
Last week I happened to be in our local craft store and found some oval hoops so I decided to grab a couple and start designing - of course, flowers came to mind.
