Bargello Quilting

Sharing your quilts with others is just one of the wonderful feelings we get from quilt making. Patricia from California took my Bargello Seasons online class through Quilt University earlier this year and decided to put all four of her bargello projects into one large quilt.

Since each quilt finishes at a different size I helped her calculate sashing to join these four bargellos together. Patricia loved the challenge of selecting the right fabrics and putting it all together.

Today I want to show you how it turned out.

Patricia said.... "I hope you like it. I could not have done it without you. I look forward to the next bargello class with you in the fall."

I particularly love the dark border she used to frame each bargello.

Patricia had this quilted for her. She requested the quilter to do very tight quilting in the brown areas and follow the bargello design for each bargello block. The tight quilting will really make the bargellos stand out.

Here is a photo of the quilting in the brown areas of the quilt.

Wonderful job Patricia, thanks for sharing your work with us. I look forward to seeing your next bargello quilt.

  • Dear Patricia

What an inspiriation, your choice to use these beach and sea colors for all four lessons, works perfect togehter.
You let the quiltlines move like the bargello pattern, very nice.
It is a great inspiration for other classmates in the online classroom from Ruth.

Yes, she is a very friendly and helpful teacher with great understanding.

You did a good job to calculate this border and the whole frame around.
Good job to bring all four patterns into one eye-catching wallhanging.

    Congratulations to you Patricia
