Joan Johnson is a big, and I say big as in huge, fan of Marilyn Belford. As a result, Joan has made several portrait after enrolling in Marilyn's class Realistic Fabric Portraits at the Academy of Quilting and prior at Quilt University, 4-5 times - I'd say, she just cannot get enough of this wonderful teacher!
Joan made this wonderful gift, a portrait, for a friend who has lost her husband.
This year she made a portrait for her son and his bride as a wedding gift. A perfect gift!
What a beautiful display at the reception of their wedding.
She has made a number of other portraits including one using Maria Elkins technique, of another son, Peter and his wife Alison, made last year. Their favorite colors were yellow and orange!
Next year a third son will be married so I'm sure she will be making another portrait. Great work Joan!
