My Stitch Along for June week 1
I really enjoy starting a new stitch along and here we are at the beginning of a new one. Maybe you'll join in. If you missed the rules this week, they are really easy, just collect a few items to work with. Check back for the full details here: Week One Stitch Along rules for June
When I was thinking about the painter's palette, I had a certain fabric in mind. I just wasn't sure where it was so the hunt began. It was a piece of fabric that I used in this small art quilt when I was writing my class "Getting Started with Quilt Art" and I know I have more of the fabric somewhere.
While I was searching I found some fabrics that I thought I could use.... first were some bright scraps of solid fabrics that I feel could definitely be colors on a painter's palette.
Then I found this fabric that has a lot of wonderful bright colors - a pretty galaxy. I could definitely see this in my painter's palette.
I also found these bright fun fabrics. I might use them or I might not. We'll see where this goes.
I did find some glitzy gold and silver fabrics, not cotton, but they look like fun to use, if I can find a way to incorporate them.
I still didn't find the fabric I was looking for. Maybe I will this week before the rules for week 2 are out otherwise I'll just have to go with what I have, but not before adding in some threads and beads. Oh and I have some fabric paints I might make use of too.
So here we have it, my collection of fabrics and embellishments. I think I can make something fun with these. I've put them together in one image for the gallery. Let's see who else has joined us so far: June Gallery.
