Stitch Along November Week 4 rules

Posted by Ruth on 19 November 2015 | 0 Comments

For week four and five of this November stitch along we will be enhancing our simple shape and deciding how to complete it. Start by deciding how you want to use these blocks. Here are some ideas:

  • Bind them to use for coasters
  • Join them together with or without sashing to make a small wall hanging.
  • Add extra fabric to each to make four table mats or mug rugs.

How will you finish them off? Maybe you have another idea. Whatever you decide set to and put the top together. If you are making coasters, you will naturally skip this step.

Once you have finished compiling your project, layer it with batting and backing fabrics. Then add some detailed stitching to enhance your object. You might use embellishments like couching or just stitching or even add a little more applique. Areas you might enhance could include a stem and leaf on the pear, a ball on the bell or veins on the leaf. I'm sure you can think of others.

Finally finish off your project by binding it. We have two Sunday's left in November to complete this challenge and then we'll be ready to start a December Stitch Along.
