Challenge Rules for May week 4

Did you complete last week's rules? Not too late at all, or maybe you didn't start yet so here are the rules for Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3. Join in the fun!

Rules for week four are as follows:

Use your element (the one you chose for the applique section) and add some quilting based on it. You can use the shape to add quilted shapes separately or maybe you just want to echo quilt the shape - either works.

Add any further quilting you feel you want to or need to, and then finish off your project. Here are some ideas:

  • Join the two blocks together and add binding and hangers for a wall hanging
  • Make more similar blocks and make them as a quilt - perhaps a crib quilt or lap quilt
  • Add binding and hangers to make individual pieces or eliminate the hangers to make placemats or just add one hanger on the corner for a pair of pot holders (you'll probably want to add some heat resistant batting for this)
  • Join the two blocks together with a flange or frill to make into a cushion

Any of the suggestions above would make a great gift for someone. I'll save mine for a Christmas gift stocking filler.
