My April Stitch Along week 3

Posted by Ruth on 20 April 2014 | 0 Comments

Another weekend for stitch along has come and gone already. This week's rules were combined with week two, did you miss them? Week Two and Three rules. This week was all about constructing the back of our challenge piece. I kept things pretty simple after using 7 of my 11 words for the front.

So with only four words to go, I used my green and olive fabrics so I'm halfway there. I used one fabric for the full background and cut curves from the other. Ah ha, another word with C - curves. I think I've definitely covered the C word now with couching last week and curves for this week.

I fused the curves in place on the background spacing them out a little, unlike the front.

Then I free-motion stitched them in place along the edges with my olive thread.

That's where I'm going to finish for the back. Once layered, there will be quilting added to give the back more interest.

So I have only one word left to use now and that's "hand stitching". I have an idea of how I will use that and it's not for the binding. Can you guess? Remember to check in on the Gallery, new photos have been added.
