Did you see how I changed my background piecing to drawing in black lines instead? If you missed my last post you can find it here: My last stitch Along post; in the meantime, here is a photo of where I'm currently at:

This week it is time to start quilting. Always think about quilting before starting. In fact, quilts are known to talk to you! Usually, this happens when you begin quilting an area and are unsure of another. As you quilt, thoughts will jump into your mind and finally you decide what's right for the next section. This possess goes on until all the quilting is complete.  I'll probably start with the most obvious area and that's the stitching of the notes.

If you really don't know what to quilt, search some quilting sites to get ideas. These challenges are a great place to practice some new quilting patterns. Also, if you are a student of my Machine Quilting class, you can find plenty of designs there.

Once you have finished quilting, finish your challenge piece off. You can add some embellishments too if you desire.

  • Good to hear Barbara! It is always nice to know these challenges have helped in some way. Inspiration can be found in so many places. Good luck with Color Connections - it's one of my favorite bargellos.

  • Great colors and the red notes set it off. While I did not have time to participate this month, I did get some inspiration for a design from one of my late husband's watercolors. Thanks. Currently on the sewing of strips from your Color Connections design. (That was why I did not have time :) )
